Bobo Kikonda Showing Interest in The Vermont Green FC

Bobo Kikonda is a Congolese footballer who played for the University of Cincinnati in 2020 during his freshman year. After the closure of their program due to covid and their move to the BIG12 which did not have men's soccer. Kikonda was left without a team. He was advised by a family friend who also played college soccer to transfer to Shawnee State where he had played to collect footage. Kikonda entered the transfer portal and received NCAA DI, II, III, and NAIA. Although because of all programs facing a budget cut due to covid. The scholarships he was offered were not enough. Kikonda decided to go to Shawnee State and reached his goal of collecting footage to then transfer. He attended the IUPUI ID camp in 2022 where he was quickly offered by the coaches. Kikonda's older brother Serge Kikonda plays for the Northern Kentucky Nitro during the summer and recruited his younger brother to join their roster. Bobo Kikonda scored 7 goals in 6 games (2 additional goals were scored in a friendly) and had a standout performance in the last game of the season where he scored 3 goals in 15 minutes. Kikonda has since been pushing for a move with the Vermont Green in the USL2. Kikonda said, " I have family down in Burlington that would love to watch me play during the summer especially my young niece and nephew". After watching them during their inaugural season, he quickly felt in love with the club.
